The video is simple black and white and throughout the song Watson can be seen writing the lyrics to the song.the video is edited in time to the song and doodles are drawn by the singer when there is an instrumental.
The video is based on two dogs that then turn into humans and roam the city of new york.Although it is not immediately obvious to the viewer, the actors stay in character and mimick a dogs actions such as licking eachothers faces. It is noot until the end that you see that they are infact dogs and then the concept of the video falls into place.
The video for this song by Coldplay was shot in the right order but then reversed,this being the idea meant that Chris Martin (Lead singer of the band) had to learn his own lyrics backwards. The storyline is that of a car crash whereby Chris Martin is the driver and ends up killing his partner because of the crash.
