Wind it up by Gwen Stefani is based on the film the sound of Music and songs from the film are also sampled. The majority of the video is narrative rather than performance. Wardrobe consists of a nuns out fit, monochrome and light blues all of which are taken and modernised from the film the sound of music. The style of the video is quite modern, glamorous and high budget as you can see from the harujuku girls. The video appeals to a younger audience.

21 seconds by So Solid Crew is of the garage music genre, there is more performance in this video compared to Wind it up by Gwen Stefani. The clothes in the video reflect young, streetwise youths as the style is current with a lot of black, baggy trousers and hoods. The overall style of the video is quite dark and glamourising a gangster lifestyle, the group give of quite a 'cool and current' vibe and this video relates to quite a young audience.

The video for Madonna's like a prayer is a rather ground breaking video as there are a lot of shocking references that were made at the time such as having a black man to play the role of jesus.Again, most of this is narrative to help tell the story of the song and the clothes used in this are quite revealing. The revealing dress in the video causes controversy as it clashes with the religious conotations in the lyrics. The video is aimed at a younger audience that are still forming their own views and opinions on the world, the video may influence rebellion or a more open view of christianity.

This video is done in the style of a hollywood film, the credits are shown and a lot of green screen is used to depict the setting of China. There are a lot of reds and pinks used to indicate an eastern setting and Rihanna is seen wearing traditional dress. This video, like most is aimed at young people, focusing mainly on the big production and fashion in the video.

The video for you need me i dont need you by Ed Sheeran steps away from the usual big production of a music video. It is filmed quite simply in black and white and there are glimpses of the artist, the main focus is on the other man in the video who is signing the lyrics. The effect of this is that there is more emphasis put on the lyrics themselves and less on the wardrobe or artist singing. The video is aimed at a younger audience but also caters for the deaf.
